ABOUT
the Mindfulness & Tea Retreat
Escape into a weekend of serenity and self-discovery with our Mindfulness Meditation & Tea Retreat. Led by an experienced monk, Venerable Qingxiu, this program offers an introductory practice to enhance personal wellbeing through mindfulness. Participants will engage in foundational exercises like mindful breathing, walking, and eating, alongside guided meditations on compassion and gratitude. Brief discussions will explore perspectives on personal and interpersonal harmony, enriching your mindfulness journey.
A highlight of the retreat is an authentic tea ceremony guided by Tea Master Wen-hui Chang, a globally recognized tea expert and founder of Er-ya Tea Academy. With decades of dedication to tea culture, Master Chang brings her passion and skill to this experience, blending tradition with a modern appreciation for organic living. Her tea ceremony promises a moment of calm and connection, steeped in artistry.
Complementing the weekend is a culinary highlight from Executive Chef Rodrigo Bernal of The Mansion at Glen Cove. Known for his innovative approach, Chef Rodrigo has crafted an exquisite vegan dessert that elevates plant-based cuisine into a delightful sensory experience. This treat, paired with the retreat’s mindful ethos, underscores the program’s focus on intentional living.
This retreat weaves together Zen meditation, the elegance of tea ceremony, and the joy of gourmet vegan delights, offering a holistic weekend escape that nurtures body, mind, and spirit. Join us for a transformative experience that’s as enriching as it is unforgettable.
From the retreat, we hope you can harvest a greater sense of calm and clarity, and experience how cultivating mindfulness and inner awareness can unlock the mind’s potential for new perspectives, and provide us a greater sense of joy, energy, and purpose as we navigate today’s fast-paced, dynamic world.
